“ My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the crabcake with melon & arugula salad. The crabcake was of a generous portion, the tartar sauce was delicious, and the asparagus was perfect. The addition of watermelon was interesting and works - a delicious summer dish! We also really enjoyed the Alexander cake and the seasonal rhubarb tart. I was happy to see a list of non alcoholic options, and can recommend the lingonberry spritz - a great compliment to the perfect summer meal! ”

“ Mikko's never disappoints. We had the fish soup with clear broth, and the herring open face sandwich. The soup was simple, but had so much flavor. The herring was on point with the egg and tomato. There is something about the rye bread that they use. It tastes so much better than what we eat in the states. The drinks were also amazing. I am not a huge fan of aquavit, but I thought the Fish soup take 2 cocktail gave the aquavit a refreshing taste. If you do not like to drink alcohol, the Lingonberry spritz was a nice alternative. ”
“ A really charming cafe with delicious Nordic food and nice service. I liked my brunch here, most of the dishes were quite good. Ham & Cheese Quiche had a very pleasant and delicate flavor. And Smoked Salmon Benedict - delicious as well. There was a lot of hollandaise sauce and delicious salmon, one of the best Eggs Benedict that I have ever ordered. I also liked a fish soup because there was a lot of salmon in it. A wide range of pastry is also served here. We decided to try Karelian Pasty. It was not the best choice. I did not really understand it’s taste. However, they have the other pastry, delicious cakes and different tarts. ”
“ Mikko's place is one of the few Nordic restaurants I know. Food has a lot influence from the Nordic home meals but is still fusion for DC restaurant. I just love it. Same way as I really like Chinese food in San Fransisco more than in Shanghai. Dupont athmosphere is always great and it is fun to taste seasonal specialities. ”
